Institute of Folklore Studies
As part of our work to put the materials of the Institute of Folklore Studies at Seijo University into use, we offer access to our holdings and open them to the public (through exhibitions). Although our books and other materials may not be borrowed, they are available for use by students and staff at the university, and researchers from other institutions.
We offer public access to our folklore materials at special exhibitions held each autumn.
Organized on themes related to Kunio YANAGITA or folk-art toys, these exhibitions are open to all members of the general public.
As part of our research, we hold public lectures during the spring. These are also open to the general public. The lectures are free, and reservations are not required.
Our research activities are covered on an occasional basis in forums such as The Minken News (quarterly) and on our website.
