The Research Center for Textual Scholarship intends to introduce and disseminate textual scholarship (Editionsphilologie), an academic discipline which has been flourishing in Germany and other European countries since the 1980s. Starting from a Japanese perspective, the center also aims to contribute to the development of the field on a global scale.
